Yes, I'm slacking this week. Life happens.
So this time last year. Here's a quick rundown.
Saturday, August 23: Aunt Daava flew home worn out from a week with my rambunctious girls.
Sunday, August 24: 24 weeks pregnant! Woohoo! This was huge. 24 weeks was when the hospital considered JW viable. But we were still hoping to pregnant for many weeks to come.
Monday, August 25: Nana flies in to care for the girls.
Other happenings during the week. Ultrasound showed JW's fluid holding steady around 4 or 5. Still low, but enough to keep Dr. M, and me, happy. Nana and the girls were walking through the halls of the Labor and Delivery wing and passed a group of nurses talking amongst themselves. One of the nurses recognized the girls and whispered to the other nurses, "She's still pregnant?" Yeah, that's right! :) One of my night nurses "freaked" a little bit while monitoring JW because he wasn't as reactive (meaning his heartrate wasn't changing when he was active) as she wanted to see. After keeping me on the monitor way longer than necessary, she called Dr. R who informed the nurse it was because JW was not yet at the gestation where his heartrate would be reactive and everything was fine. Sigh. It was funny, cuz she was freaked, but I was just like "he's fine, can we take the monitors off?"
Saturday, August 30: The girls fly back to San Diego with Nana for a 10 day trip. :(
